What a month it's been here at Farleigh! Our flowers are growing strong and we have flung ourselves into flower selling and getting things moving at Farleigh. Spring has truly sprung and as the sun shines, things are warming up and we are coming out of hibernation. We have been selling our tulips and other spring flowers at Bickleigh Mill, our local shopping and dining riverside experience centre. Right on the tourist track, we were just about ready to make our debut on Mother's day and got chatting to plenty of interested and interesting local people and made some good contacts which we'll hopefully foster for the long term.
Other projects we have worked on include establishing our flowers by post scheme, our top of drive stall and contacting local farm shops, pubs, holiday cottages and campsites to provide flowers for table arrangements and to brighten up holiday lets and pubs. We are so proud of our flowers and really want to spread the word about what we grow and what we are hoping to achieve here at Farleigh.
We have hosted a silk dyeing workshop run by our partners at www.sunbirdsilks.com which was a great success, and we have already booked in our next date in May! As well as this, we have joined a cooperative called Flowersonthefarm which unites british flower growers and will help us to better our business and improve our growing.
All of this in just a few weeks, as well as welcoming our youngest son to the family. It's all happening here at Farleigh. We hope to catch you up on a few more projects, but would love to hear your feedback, comments and ideas so please do contact us (hello@farleighfarm.co.uk).
